La Historia Mia New York Performances

At NJPAC, **La Historia Mia** frames the career of Colombian singer **Jorge Celedón** in a concert-bio format, billed here under a Rock/Pop umbrella while drawing heavily on vallenato lineage. The program traces his path from supporting roles with **Binomio de Oro de América** to leading his own project, formed in 1998 with accordionist **Jimmy Zambrano**. No documented NYC premiere history is established for this billing, but its presence in the region points to the sustained weight of Colombian popular music in the New York–area circuit. The title’s self-portrait premise can read as both memoir and brand, a common tension in diaspora-stage storytelling.
