Theherav: The Ghazal Project New York Performances

Now at NJPAC, *Theherav: The Ghazal Project* approaches the ghazal as both form and record, tracing how love, loss, exile, and devotion travel across languages and generations. The play folds research, testimony, and performance into a documentary structure that asks what survives translation and what gets edited out. If it has had a New York City premiere or prior NYC run, that context is worth noting for audiences tracking South Asian and diaspora work in the region. Its strongest choice is restraint: it lets the material’s contradictions sit in the open.
