Torch Songs New York Performances

At PACNYC: Perelman Performing Arts Center, Marie-Claire Giraud frames “Torch Songs” as an opera program built from scenes, not a familiar-aria survey. Her conservatory training shows in the attention to diction and in the way a small ensemble is organized around a single idea rather than a grab bag of repertoire. In a city where vocal recitals can lean on greatest hits, this approach treats the torch song as character study and dramatic literature. No specific NYC-premiere history is announced for this edition.
