The Cursed Amulet III New York Performances

At Elsewhere, Julio Torres Presents: The Cursed Amulet III frames an electronic set through the lens of a songwriter shaped by Colombian vallenato. Torres first developed his approach in a Bogotá ensemble, then carried it into New York contexts, including a Town Hall appearance via Performa’s Live On Broadway. The program tracks how inherited folk structures can be rerouted through club-ready synthesis without severing their narrative spine. It reads less like genre crossover than a document of translation across cities and scenes.
