Filter Four New York Performances

Cecilia Lopez’s Filter Four is a classical project shaped by contemporary practice, built around Lopez’s attention to texture, pacing, and the physical behavior of sound. At Roulette in New York City, the group appears alongside jazz artist Melissa Almaguer, whose work sits between composed material and improvisation, often unfolding with a narrative sense of time. The pairing places two idioms in close proximity without forcing a merger. It makes a quiet case for listening as structure, not decoration.
