Two Miles A Day New York Performances

Two Miles A Day is a free-jazz set at Bar Bayeux, led by saxophonist Hery Paz with pianist Jacob Sacks, bassist Eivind Opsvik, and drummer Connor Parks. The quartet moves between written fragments and open improvisation, with Paz and Parks leaning on the discipline of close listening and quick structural decisions. Sacks threads composed passages into looser forms, while Opsvik anchors the group’s shifts in tempo and harmony. It reflects a long New York tradition of small-room experimentation, where the composition is partly made in the moment.
