For Example: The Chinese of Lebanon New York Performances

At the Knitting Factory, Nina Diwan and Oscar Mooney present *For Example: The Chinese of Lebanon*, a film that traces a little-documented community shaped by migration, trade, and shifting ideas of belonging. Screened in a live setting alongside performances by Diwan and Mooney, the work sits between documentary inquiry and Rock/Pop stage practice. In New York, where diasporas often overlap without being legible to each other, the film reads as a small corrective to the city’s usual cultural map. It observes identity as something negotiated in public, not inherited whole.
