Torture Tuesday: Torture and the Desert Spiders New York Performances

“Torture Tuesday: Torture and the Desert Spiders” lands at Berlin as part of a recurring weeknight series, framing the project in a club tradition that prizes repetition and change. Torture and the Desert Spiders is an emerging rock/pop act with a small but measurable online following, and in New York it has previously surfaced at the Mercury Lounge, sometimes in a solo configuration. Here, the emphasis shifts to dance, using the band’s set as a score for bodies and timing. The result reads less like spectacle than a document of a scene testing its own edges.
