Splash New York Performances

“Splash” takes its cue from the pop-art image of a pool interrupted by a sudden burst of water, with the human cause left offstage. Here, that idea becomes a jazz set at The Jazz Gallery, led by avant-garde pianist and composer Myra Melford, a Guggenheim Fellow known for pushing the instrument beyond its expected roles. No NYC premiere history has been confirmed for this program. The frame matters: it turns a single, frozen disturbance into a study of impact, absence, and aftermath in sound.
