Noel Olson Is Getting Top Surgery: A Variety Show New York Performances

At Purgatory, Noel Olson Is Getting Top Surgery: A Variety Show takes the structure of a nightclub bill and uses it to frame a medical transition as public narrative. DJ TK, Porcelain Vivisection, Clown Syndrome, Uncle Blender, and Consumer Culture move through an electronic set list that mixes performance formats rather than smoothing them into one story. There is no documented NYC premiere history widely on record, but the piece sits in a local lineage of downtown variety nights that treat the body as both subject and medium. Its clearest point is procedural: it asks what it means to witness care, risk, and agency in a room built for entertainment.
