artport: A History of Internet Art New York Performances

Now playing at Whitney Exhibitions, *artport: A History of Internet Art* traces how artists used the web as both medium and subject, from early network experiments to later browser-based practices. The presentation maps shifting tools and communities, treating online space as a site of authorship, distribution, and conflict. In New York, where museums helped legitimize digital work early, the project reads as a record of that institutional turn. Its clearest insight is that “internet art” is less a genre than a changing set of conditions.
