These Shining Lives New York Performances

Melanie Marnich’s *These Shining Lives* dramatizes the documented case of four young women employed at a Midwestern watch-dial factory, where radium paint turned routine labor into a slow medical crisis. Built from testimony and historical record, the play tracks how corporate reassurance and workplace silence can outlast the evidence in workers’ bodies. Now presented live at Wagner College Theatre in New York City, it sits in a lineage of American labor dramas that treat the stage as a public record. Its clearest observation is how easily harm becomes policy when it is profitable.
