Rocky In Concert New York Performances

At Kings Theatre, *Rocky In Concert* pairs the original *Rocky* film with its score performed live, syncing music to picture in real time. It sits in the rock/pop end of the concert spectrum, where brass, rhythm section, and strings carry Bill Conti’s themes alongside the movie’s dialogue and sound. The format has circulated internationally, but in New York it reads as a city-sized ritual: a familiar 1970s underdog myth revisited in a former movie palace. The live musicians expose how much the film’s pacing depends on the score.
