Sigo En Pie Tour New York Performances

“Sigo En Pie Tour” arrives at the Milton G. Bassin Performing Arts Center as a cross-campus, cross-borough collaboration anchored in Latin music’s orchestral tradition. Two-time Grammy-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra, directed by Oscar Hernández, shares the program with Colombian singer-songwriter Santiago Cruz and the Queens College Choral Society, with additional appearances by Miguel Anggelo and the Queens Symphony Orchestra. The evening links salsa and Latin jazz to concert-hall forces, a reminder of how New York has long been a meeting point for these lineages. The most telling detail is structural: the choral writing frames dance rhythms as civic music, not background.
