Pizza Mermaid's Aquarium of Friendship New York Performances

“Pizza Mermaid’s Aquarium of Friendship” is a recurring live program staged at Freddy’s Bar in Brooklyn, built around rotating formats rather than a fixed cast. The calendar folds in Mimsey’s Open Mic and karaoke on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, Humans Against Music, a comedy open mic on Mondays and Wednesdays, and “So What Happened Was…,” a monthly storytelling slot on third Mondays after the comedy show, alongside specials like Highland Shatner’s St. Pat’s show. In a city where venues often separate scenes, this series treats the bar as a shared room for music, comedy, and spoken word. Its significance is less about a singular NYC premiere than the ongoing documentation of neighborhood talent in real time.
