Second Sunday Screenings in the Backroom! New York Performances

Second Sunday Screenings in the Backroom is a monthly film night tucked into the back room at Freddy’s Bar in Brooklyn. It sits alongside the venue’s steady calendar—Mimsey’s Open Mic and karaoke on 1st and 3rd Sundays, Humans Against Music, comedy open mics on Mondays and Wednesdays, and “So What Happened Was…” storytelling on third Mondays—so the screenings read as one more local ritual rather than a separate “cinema” space. If a given title lands as an NYC premiere, it’s treated plainly, as a record of where work first met an audience. The series matters because it keeps moving-image culture in conversation with the neighborhood’s live, talk-forward scene.
