set of improvised music New York Performances

This ongoing set of improvised music unfolds at Freddy’s Bar in Brooklyn, where the room’s calendar doubles as a map of local performance habits. Mimsey’s Open Mic (first and third Sundays) shares space with karaoke on those same nights, Humans Against Music, and comedy open mics on Mondays and Wednesdays, with “So What Happened Was…” bringing monthly storytelling on third Mondays after the comedy set. In a city with a long history of bar-room stages shaping new work, the format matters because it keeps genres in conversation. The most telling detail is the schedule itself, which treats participation as the main event.
