How I Met Your Mother New York Performances

“How I Met Your Mother” is best known as a long-running American sitcom set largely in Manhattan, built around Ted Mosby recounting to his children how a decade of friendships and near-misses led to meeting their mother. In New York, the show’s bars-and-apartments geography became a shorthand for a certain mid-2000s city mythology, even when filmed elsewhere. At the Bowery Ballroom, The Solids—led by creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas—reframe that world as rock/pop: guitar-led songs, tight hooks, and band-first playing. It’s a reminder that TV storytelling can leak into the city’s live-music ecosystem.
