*Teahouse Performances* arrives at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club as a live dance program by HT Chen and Dancers and the HT Chen and Dancers Company. The work draws on teahouse social life as a frame for movement, memory, and public encounter, linking everyday ritual to larger histories of migration and community formation in New York City. La MaMa’s downtown stage situates it within a long local lineage of immigrant and experimental performance, even if this iteration is new to many NYC audiences.
