The Goonies New York Performances

Released in 1985, *The Goonies* is an American adventure-comedy about a tight-knit group of kids who chase a pirate legend in hopes of keeping their neighborhood intact. Its blend of juvenile bravado, booby-trap serial plotting, and family-crime pressure helped define the era’s studio kid’s film, with a street-level energy that still reads clearly. While it was not a New York–made production, New York repertory houses have long kept it in circulation as a touchstone of ‘80s pop memory. At NJPAC, the 40th-anniversary screening is paired with a Q&A with Corey Feldman and Kerri Green, plus live rock/pop from The Goonies.
