Museum of the City of New York
About Museum of the City of New York
The Museum of the City of New York is a history and art museum in Manhattan, on Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street across from Central Park in East Harlem at the top of Museum Mile. Founded in 1923, it focuses on the city’s past and present through exhibitions, collections, and public programs that trace everyday life, politics, design, and culture. Lectures, panel conversations, and film screenings extend the galleries into a civic forum. It is a place where New York is treated as a subject with a long memory and a shifting cast of characters.
