Stephen Sondheim Theatre
About Stephen Sondheim Theatre
The Stephen Sondheim Theatre sits at 124 West 43rd Street in Midtown Manhattan’s Theater District. A Broadway house focused on musical theatre and plays, it reopened in 2009 as a 1,055-seat venue built into the base of the Bank of America Tower. The theater is operated by the Roundabout Theatre Company and retains the protected street-front facade from the earlier Henry Miller’s Theatre that once stood on the site. Below street level, the newer auditorium feels intentionally removed from Times Square’s noise.
