The Cat in the Hat Comes to Paley!

At Kings Theatre, *The Cat in the Hat* arrives in New York as a stage adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s household-disruption fable, where a bored day indoors turns into escalating chaos and a last-minute scramble to restore order. The story’s spare vocabulary and rhythmic logic make it a case study in how children’s literature uses repetition and consequence to teach rules without preaching. The billing foregrounds Chicago-based companies and even a “Chicago team,” a reminder that touring theater packages can blur art, brand, and logistics. Specific NYC premiere history is not clearly documented.
