Alexis Cuadrado Group "Silent Film Scores for Social Justice" Album Release

At The Jazz Gallery, *Silent Film Scores* is presented as a live jazz event led by bassist and composer Alexis Cuadrado with the Alexis Cuadrado Group. The program treats early cinema as a working score, using improvisation and structured themes to shadow onscreen rhythm, gesture, and mood. In New York, where silent-film accompaniment helped shape the city’s early moviegoing culture, this format reads less like nostalgia and more like an argument for music as narrative. The result is attentive and precise, asking the audience to watch with their ears.
