About This Event
The Roy Hargrove Big Band carries forward the repertory and bandstand ethos of trumpeter-composer Roy Hargrove, drawing on big band jazz, hard bop, ballad work and Latin-jazz currents while leaving room for hip‑hop and R&B inflection. At its monthly residency at The Jazz Gallery the ensemble presents arrangements that favor direct melodic statements and a tight ensemble engine, with performances that emphasize clarity and groove over individual display.
