Character BETTY NIGHT Come see the twisted geniuses of UCB’s character house team!
About This Event
At the UCB Theatre, Character BETTY NIGHT showcases UCB’s character house team, a New York comedy group that develops character-driven sets from improvisation. Their work draws on the school's training in game, voice and physicality, shaping scenes around specific personas and rapid shifts; the night treats the stage as a laboratory for behavior and favors clarity of character over plot.
About Character BETTY NIGHT
Other Character: BETTY NIGHT is a live comedy event presented at UCB Theatre in New York City, performed by members of UCB’s character house team. It centers on character work rather than stand-up, using heightened personas and quick scene-making to map everyday anxieties onto stranger, sharper shapes. In a city where improv has long doubled as an informal training ground for comedy and TV writing, the show reads as part of that ongoing pipeline and community practice. Its best moments treat character as social reporting, not just a bit.
