Frankenstem Returns: The Musical

Now onstage at Staten Island’s St. George Theatre, *Frankenstem Returns: The Musical* revisits the Frankenstein myth through a contemporary, music-driven lens. The story follows a creator and his reanimated experiment as they negotiate responsibility, memory, and the cost of being made rather than born. In a city with a long history of staging Gothic literature and monster lore—from downtown cabaret to Broadway pastiche—this production adds another local chapter. Its most effective moments treat the “monster” less as spectacle and more as a social diagnosis.
