Crush Sahara & Hamilton

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s *Hamilton* reframes the life of Alexander Hamilton through a score built from hip-hop, R&B, pop, and Broadway forms, tracing revolution, nation-building, and the personal costs of power. The show became a New York cultural marker after its 2015 arrival on Broadway, renewing debate about who gets to inhabit the country’s founding stories through its intentionally diverse casting. One can argue its most lasting move is formal: it treats American political history as living language. Now playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, with featured performer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
