The Grove Street Stompers
About This Event
The Grove Street Stompers are a New York City jazz group heard in the close quarters of Arthur's Tavern, where the room's history and acoustics shape the set. Their repertoire ranges from straight-ahead swing to freer episodes and favors collective momentum over solo display, with horns and rhythm trading cues in real time; they treat the tavern like a workshop as well as a stage.
About the Artist
The Grove Street Stompers
The Grove Street Stompers are a New York City jazz group heard in the close quarters of Arthur’s Tavern, where the room’s history and acoustics shape the set as much as the charts do. Their working repertoire draws on straight-ahead swing language and stretches into freer episodes that leave space for risk and response.
