Salcedo’s Family: Soli… Pops y Palmas Album Release Party

“Soli… Pops y Palmas” arrives in New York as a live performance at the Kupferberg Center for the Arts, placing body percussion and hand-clap traditions at the center of the stage. The work traces how rhythmic languages travel across communities, from social dance floors to formal concert settings, and what gets preserved or reshaped along the way. In an NYC context, it reads as a small study in diaspora and transmission, where sound is made without instruments and memory becomes technique. Its restraint is part of the point, letting structure and labor stay visible.
