Saxophonist and bandleader Brad Linde, who directs Jazz and Creative Instrumental Music at Georgetown Day School, brings his New Quartet to Smalls Jazz Club. The New York–based quartet works in a modern straight‑ahead idiom—tight forms, open solos and quick shifts in feel—using the club’s close room to test new material and foreground ensemble listening and arrangements that leave room for individual lines.
