Les Choristes

At L’Alliance New York, *Les Choristes* arrives in a new guise: a Rock/Pop performance that takes its cue from Degas’s late-19th-century study of singers onstage, set against the ritual of public entertainment. The show leans into ensemble sound and the social dynamics of performance rather than spectacle. If this is its first New York run, it reads as a small act of cultural translation, moving a French art-historical subject into a contemporary downtown listening room. One clear implication: attention shifts from stars to the labor of the group.
