Works & Process Rotunda Dance Party: SCUFF Queer Country Dancing at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum assembles poets Aracelis Girmay and Ross Gay; the jazz-rooted KEIGWIN + COMPANY; and choreographers Pam Tanowitz, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Sarah Crowner. The evening pairs intimate, essay-inflected readings and ensemble rhythms with choreography that places modern repertory alongside contemporary visual composition and an emphasis on structure and rhythm.
About Stage Door – ArtYard
Stage Door – ArtYard arrives at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum as a live, on-site program that threads jazz through dance, poetry, and visual form. Featured artists include Paul Taylor Dance Company and choreographer Pam Tanowitz, with contributions from Sarah Crowner, Aracelis Girmay, and Ross Gay. The Guggenheim’s rotunda becomes both stage and frame, placing bodies and language in dialogue with a landmark of New York’s modernist cultural history. The result reads less like a showcase than a study in how institutions shape what performance can be.

Pam Tanowitz
Pam Tanowitz is an American dancer, choreographer, professor, and founder of the company, Pam Tanowitz Dance. She is a current staff member at Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts where she teaches dance and choreography.
Sarah Crowner
Sarah Crowner is a dance artist whose work has appeared in New York City performance contexts, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s Works & Process series. She has been presented alongside the Paul Taylor Dance Company and choreographer Pam Tanowitz, in programs that place established repertory in dialogue with contemporary makers.
Aracelis Girmay
Aracelis Girmay is a U.S.-based poet, teacher, and editor whose work also moves through collage and essay, with frequent collaborations across sound, film, and performance. Her books include *Teeth*, *Kingdom Animalia*, *the black maria*, and *GREEN OF ALL HEADS*, alongside picture-book projects such as *What Do You Know?* and *Kamau & ZuZu Find a Way*.
Ross Gay

KEIGWIN + COMPANY
