The Hold Steady: Storytellers Set
About This Event
The Hold Steady, formed in 2003, are a rock and pop band whose songwriting emphasizes narrative detail and whose shows foreground communal engagement. At Brooklyn Bowl they present a Storytellers Set that draws on the group's long history of collaborations and onstage rapport, underscoring the performance-driven side of their two-decade presence in the contemporary scene.
About Storytellers Set
Now playing at Brooklyn Bowl, this Storytellers Set centers The Hold Steady, the New York–connected rock/pop band formed in 2003 and long embedded in the city’s club circuit and festival culture. The format pares the show back to the songs’ spoken worlds, with short introductions and scene-setting that foreground characters, place, and memory. It also reflects the group’s collaborative ethos, built over years of shared bills and guest-filled nights. One critical fact remains: their narratives hold attention because the writing treats community as subject, not backdrop.
