About Mirror Image
Jalal Volker
Mirror Image is guitarist-composer Tal Yahalom’s small-group project, heard at The Jazz Gallery in New York City. The title nods to reflection as both optical fact and compositional method, with lines and harmonies that return altered, flipped in direction, and recast in time. The music leans on close ensemble listening and finely grained rhythmic detail rather than big gestures. Its quiet rigor feels aligned with the room’s legacy as a working laboratory for contemporary NYC jazz.
