globalFEST at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! With DakhaBrakha, Yeison Landero, Sally Baby's Silver Dollars, and Sunju Park

globalFEST at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! brings a rotating, international bill to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park bandshell, presented through BRIC’s long-running summer series. The program places distinct performance languages side by side, from DakhaBrakha’s folk-rooted ensemble work to Yeison Landero’s Colombian accordion tradition, alongside Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars reframing jazz for younger audiences and Sunju Park’s dance practice.

DakhaBrakha is a Ukrainian group working in the rock/pop sphere, known for blending traditional vocal and instrumental textures with modern amplification and stagecraft. Their approach leans on folk-derived rhythm and harmony, arranged with the discipline of an ensemble that treats the voice as both lead and percussion.

Yeison Landero is a Colombian dance artist whose work draws on cumbia’s social rhythms and street-level traditions. In New York City he has appeared at BRIC as part of globalFEST at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, sharing the bill with artists including DakhaBrakha, Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars, and Sunju Park.

Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars is a jazz performer whose work is often framed for younger listeners without flattening the music. In New York City, the project appears at Terra Blues with a live set built around familiar swing rhythms and clear, singable lines.

Sunju Park is a musical artist whose work appears on New York City stages, including PACNYC: Perelman Performing Arts Center. She has performed with composer Peter Gordon and musician Mustafa Khaliq Ahmed, including the live program titled *Sunju Park, Peter Gordon, & Mustafa Khaliq Ahmed*.
