About This Event
Ohene, a comedian with ties to New York's live circuit, presents Ohene's Toxic Avenger at Comedy in Harlem. He draws on everyday observation and cultural shorthand, moving between personal narrative and sharper social commentary; his public music footprint—tagged highlife, hiplife, Ghanaian hip hop and azonto—and a roughly 40,000-strong Spotify following inform a stage approach that favors direct premises and timing.
About Ohene's Toxic Avenger – Live at Comedy In Harlem
Ohene’s *Toxic Avenger* is a live stand-up set now playing at Comedy in Harlem, presented in the intimate, high-turnover format the room is known for. Ohene works in a confessional mode, tracing everyday frustrations and private contradictions into structured jokes rather than broad sketches. In a city where Harlem comedy has long served as a testing ground for voice and timing, the setting becomes part of the piece’s meaning. The material’s edge is controlled, using discomfort as a measure of what audiences will admit out loud.
