Eliot Krimsky • Kirin McElwain • Matt Evans' Aquatic House
About This Event
Union Pool presents a bill featuring Eliot Krimsky, Kirin McElwain and Matt Evans’ Aquatic House. The lineup places Krimsky’s patient ambient-drone and stripped-back ambient-jazz beside McElwain’s baroque-inflected cello with sub-bass and harsh electronics, and Evans’s improvisatory electroacoustic sound design that emphasizes texture and spatial detail.
About the Artists
Eliot Krimsky
Eliot Krimsky is an electronic artist whose work moves between ambient, drone, and a stripped-back strain of ambient jazz. In New York City, he has appeared at Union Pool, including bills alongside Kirin McElwain and Matt Evans’ Aquatic House that frame his sound in dialogue with improvisers.
Kirin McElwain
Kirin McElwain is a cellist and composer working in the realms of experimental, contemporary classical, and improvised music. Weaving together classical and Baroque influences with an affinity for sub-bass and harsh electronic textures, her music explores themes of desire, shame, perfection, and belonging.
Matt Evans' Aquatic House
Matt Evans’ Aquatic House is a New York City–based electronic project that works at the edge of electroacoustic, ambient, and experimental practice. In live settings, including performances at Union Pool, the group leans on improvisation and careful sound design rather than fixed song form.
