Antibalas, the Brooklyn-based afrobeat ensemble founded in 1998 by Martín Perna and shaped by the musical architecture of Fela Kuti's Africa 70 and Eddie Palmieri's Harlem River Drive Orchestra, brings afrobeat's layered rhythms and a vocabulary drawn from jazz, funk, dub and Cuban and West African drumming to BRIC.
