Formidable! Aznavour: The Story Of A Legend
About This Event
Formidable Aznavour: The Story of a Legend at Town Hall is a stage portrait that revisits Charles Aznavour’s repertory and public life. The France-based project performs a documentary-style program tracing Aznavour’s seven-decade, multilingual career across songwriting, recording, film and diplomatic work, joined by Jules Grison; the presentation privileges narrative, phrasing and songcraft over spectacle.
About Formidable! Aznavour: The Story Of A Legend
Now at Town Hall, *Formidable! Aznavour: The Story of a Legend* traces the long arc of Charles Aznavour’s life and work, from French‑Armenian roots to a career that moved between singer‑songwriter, actor, and diplomat. The program centers on a repertoire that crossed languages and decades, drawing on a catalog of more than 1,200 recorded songs and over 1,000 compositions. Featuring Formidable! Aznavour (FR), Jules Grison, and archival presence of Aznavour himself, it places pop craft under a documentary lens. Its clearest point is how an intimate voice can carry a public history.
