Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition
About This Event
The Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition presents a lineup of emerging singers in vocal jazz, standards and ballads at NJPAC. Named for Sarah Vaughan, the annual showcase is grounded in the expectations of New York metropolitan clubs and concert stages and judges competitors on time, tone, phrasing and command of lyric. Performances favor musical decision-making and craft rather than spectacle.
