Ben Vereen's 80th Birthday Celebration
About This Event
Ben Vereen, whose career began on New York stages and who first drew wide attention in the original Broadway company of Jesus Christ Superstar before winning a Tony for Pippin, marks his 80th birthday with a performance at NJPAC. He treats concerts as sequences of theatrical scenes, blending storytelling with dance-trained precision, an approach that roots the evening in his Broadway tradition.
