About Mono-Stereo
Mono-Stereo arrives at The Jazz Gallery as a live set framed by New York’s small-room tradition, where ideas are tested in public before they harden into repertoire. Featured performer Anthony Tidd brings a composer-bandleader’s attention to structure, letting groove and counterpoint share the same space. The music treats “mono” and “stereo” less as formats than as ways of hearing—single lines widening into layers, then collapsing back to essentials. It’s a reminder that in NYC jazz, experimentation often happens at conversational volume.
