Big Sandy and His Fly‑Rite Boys are a California‑based roots group led by vocalist Robert Williams, known as Big Sandy; their sets move through rockabilly and Western swing and touch folk, bluegrass, Cajun, mariachi and early rock and roll. At Hill Country Live they bring a road-tested ensemble—guitarist Ashley Kingman, bassist Frankie Hernandez and drummer Russell Shiflett—favoring groove and ensemble balance over spectacle.
