Presented live at Queens Botanical Garden, *Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, Please (Chinese Language)* revisits a familiar MTA warning as a framework for migration, daily transit, and what gets left unsaid between stops. The Chinese-language version shifts the work’s address, linking New York’s subway soundscape to the city’s Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking communities and to the politics of translation. In a city where public space is often navigated through announcements, this dance treats language as choreography. Its clearest insight is that mobility can read as routine while still carrying history.
