Saxophonist and composer Mark Zaleski brings the Mark Zaleski Band to Smalls Jazz Club. The project grows out of his small-band work and centers on tightly arranged structures that open into ensemble improvisation; sets favor blend and shifting front-line roles over solo display, with arrangements shaped by a composer’s ear and tested in the room.
