WED 8 & 9:30 - Noah Garabedian Quintet w/Jonathan Finlayson, David Leon, Carmen Staaf, Jimmy Macbride
About This Event
At Bar Bayeux the Noah Garabedian Quintet—featuring trumpeter-composer Jonathan Finlayson, pianist-arranger Carmen Staaf, David Leon and drummer-composer Jimmy Macbride—presents a program rooted in contemporary, composer-led jazz. Garabedian, who holds a BA in ethnomusicology from UCLA and a Master's of Music Performance from NYU and who received a Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grant, leads material that allows Staaf's cross-cultural arranging and Leon's ensemble-focused, free-improv approach to emerge.
