About This Event
Dance Theatre of Harlem — the professional company and school founded in 1969 by Arthur Mitchell with Brock Peters and Cicely Tyson — performs at New York City Center. Widely recognized as the first Black classical ballet company and among the first major companies to prioritize Black dancers, DTH is led artistically by Robert Garland and draws on a legacy that included Milton Rosenstock as music director from 1981 to 1992.
