Bill Nace + David Watson, Camille Dietrich + Don Dietrich, and Keith Fullerton Whitman + Chuck Bettis come together as a set of pairing-based projects in Stereo Mandrax’s New York City program at Pianos.

Stereo Mandrax is a rock/pop group heard in New York City rooms such as Pianos, often on bills that blur the line between club rock and downtown experimental music. Their recent appearances have placed them alongside Council Of Foreign Relations, Excepter, Marcia Bassett and Taralie Peterson, as well as Pink Must Animal, Surrender, Jeff Tobias, and Chris Forsyth’s What is Now.

Bill Nace is an experimental guitarist whose work moves between rock structures and electroacoustic noise, with ties to New York City’s downtown scene. He has collaborated with figures such as Joe McPhee, Thurston Moore, and Kim Gordon in Body/Head, and often works in small, volatile pairings.

David Watson is a leading cultural consultant and sector leader working across the UK’s arts, culture and heritage sector. Strategy, creative leadership and audience experience.

Described as “...demonstrating a facility with a multitude of musical languages” by British avant-garde music magazine The Wire, cellist Camille Dietrich enjoys a rising career as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher in New York.

Don Dietrich is a New York–based musician whose work moves between rock/pop structures and the downtown avant-garde. His collaborations include sets with Camille Dietrich, Bill Nace, David Watson, Keith Fullerton Whitman, and Chuck Bettis, often in small-format lineups that leave room for open-ended interaction.
