Passion Pit is the indie-pop project of songwriter and keyboardist Michael Angelakos, who began recording under the name in 2007 in the Boston area. On The Pretty Penny Tour the studio-centered arrangements expand on stage into a full band—drums, keys and multi-instrumental parts—presenting songs built on bright synth patterns, clipped rhythms and Angelakos's high, elastic vocal delivery at The Rooftop at Pier 17.
